Merry Little Mantle

When it comes to our home, the living room and specifically the mantle is the centerpiece of the entire home. We have a really open floor plan, and you can pretty much see the fireplace from every room on the main level. So when it comes to decorating it, it's a high priority for setting the tone.

I actually have never decorated it the same for the holidays since we've lived here. I feel like each year, it evolves and becomes more my style or comfort that year.

This year, I knew I wanted a symmetrical garland layered to make a statement with some really simple accent pieces.

I picked up the garland from wayfair using a combination of eucalyptus, cedar and a traditional fir style garland. I just wove them together an draped them to one side. I picked up some distressed bells and hooked them to the mantle using tan velvet ribbon to make a really droopy and antique look. Then to modernize it, I added unfinished wood nutcracker and wooden trees to give it that modern organic feel I have incorporated through the rest of my home.

It's very warm and romantic in a sense, and I am so happy I went with my gut to change it up a bit.
