A Weekend Staycation in Atlanta, Georgia - With Epicurean Atlanta

Sometimes you don’t have to go far to feel like you’ve truly “gotten away.” This past weekend, we decided to slow down and soak in the city we so often just pass through. Atlanta has so much to offer, and a staycation was the perfect way to enjoy it like tourists—but without the long drive or flight.

Friday Afternoon – Buckhead & Chamblee

We kicked things off with lunch at Mister 01 in Buckhead, where their star-shaped pizzas stole the show. From there, we wandered through the shops at Lenox Square—always a good mix of people watching and window shopping.

Before leaving Buckhead, we made a quick stop at Mend Coffee for lattes (highly recommend their seasonal flavors), then headed to Chamblee to pop into Chef's Tableware. It’s the perfect spot to find unique gifts and beautiful, functional pieces for your kitchen.

Evening in Midtown – Ponce City Market & the BeltLine

From Chamblee, we drove into Midtown and headed straight to Ponce City Market. We browsed the shops, treated ourselves to ice cream, and took a sunset stroll along the BeltLine. If you’ve never done it before, the BeltLine is a great way to experience the city at a slower pace, and the people-watching is unmatched.

Checking In – Epicurean Hotel

It was finally time to check into our home for the night: Epicurean Atlanta. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this is a hotel for food lovers and experience seekers. The design is modern but warm, with culinary touches everywhere—artwork inspired by ingredients, cookbooks on display, and even a curated mini-bar stocked with local snacks and craft drinks.

Epicurean isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a place to savor. Guests can take advantage of:

  • Rooftop pool and lounge with sweeping city views
  • Multiple on-site dining options (including Reverence, their signature restaurant)
  • Culinary theatre for chef demos and wine tastings
  • Outdoor gathering spaces perfect for sipping a cocktail or enjoying the Atlanta skyline
  • Spacious, beautifully designed rooms with plush beds, rainfall showers, and plenty of natural light

We spent the late afternoon relaxing on the outdoor patio before heading to dinner at Reverence. Dinner was a comfort-food dream: burgers, crispy brussels sprouts, and a peach dessert that tasted like summer. We ended the night watching the sunset from the rooftop patio before retreating to our spacious room for a cozy movie night.

Pro tip for locals: If you live in Georgia, take advantage of the Georgia Resident Rate for a discounted stay. It’s the perfect excuse to plan a quick getaway without leaving the state.

Saturday Morning – Breakfast & Exploring

We woke up to a gorgeous breakfast spread back at Reverence—think fresh pastries, fruit, eggs, and more. It was the perfect fuel for a day of exploring.

First stop was the Atlanta Scottsdale Antique Market, where you can easily spend hours browsing everything from vintage furniture to quirky collectibles. From there, we grabbed coffee at Little Tart and took a peaceful walk through Oakland Cemetery. It’s full of history, beautiful gardens, and quiet paths—such a hidden gem in the city.

By late afternoon, it was time to head home. Even though we never left Atlanta, it truly felt like a mini-vacation. Sometimes all you need is a change of pace, a few good meals, and the right hotel to make it feel like you’ve traveled somewhere special.
